A lot of camera for a small budget: a STARVIS 2 4K front sensor, a rear camera, a big screen and fast Wi-Fi. The trade-offs are a basic 1080P rear camera, no voice control, and parking mode that needs a hardwire kit — and REDTIGER...

Best thing: 4K STARVIS 2 front at a budget price

Honest catch: Rear camera is a basic 1080P (2MP) unit

Our verdict

A lot of camera for a small budget: a STARVIS 2 4K front sensor, a rear camera, a big screen and fast Wi-Fi. The trade-offs are a basic 1080P rear camera, no voice control, and parking mode that needs a hardwire kit — and REDTIGER's own page is inconsistent on some specs, so check the listing before you buy.

The F7NP is a budget way into front-and-rear recording without settling for a weak front camera. The front uses a Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 8MP sensor recording 4K across a wide 170° view, and the rear camera records 1080P across 140°. A large 3.18-inch screen makes setup and playback easy in the car, 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi 6 speeds up downloads to your phone, a GPS logger records speed and location, and a supercapacitor replaces the battery.

Why you’ll like it

  1. 01

A strong front camera for the money: the same class of STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor found in pricier 4K dash cams.

  2. 02

Wide coverage: a 170° front view catches more of the lanes beside you.

  3. 03

Easy in the car: the 3.18-inch screen lets you check angles and play back clips without a phone.

  4. 04

Faster transfers: 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi 6 moves clips to the app quickly.

Great for

  • Budget buyers who still want front and rear recording
  • New drivers and second family cars

Maybe skip it if

  • You want a sharp rear camera or voice control
