Our verdict
If you work or study at a screen in the evening, this is one of the most comfortable upgrades you can make: even desk light, no screen glare and a backlight that eases dark-room eye strain. It costs far more than basic light bars, and it needs a USB-C power source that can supply 5 V / 3 A.
Why you’ll like it
-
01
Precise optics with an 18° cut-off angle put light on your desk and keyboard, not on the screen or in your eyes.
-
02
One tap auto-dims to the recommended 500 lux, held evenly across an 85 × 50 cm area.
-
03
The backlight behind the monitor (2700K–6500K) softens the jump between a bright screen and a dark room.
-
04
An ultrasonic sensor notices when you leave the desk and switches the light off after about five minutes.
-
05
Flicker-free (IEEE PAR 1789) and approved as free of blue-light hazard (IEC TR 62471).
-
06
Takes no desk space and fits flat or curved monitors 0.43–6 cm thick.
Great for
- People who work or study at a screen after dark
- Small desks with no room for a lamp
- Curved and ultrawide monitor users
Maybe skip it if
- Your monitor has no USB-C power source nearby
- You only need basic desk light — a simpler light bar will do

Questions people ask
Will it fit my curved monitor?
Yes, if the curve is between 1000R and 1800R and the top edge is 0.43–6 cm thick. The clamp has rubber pads to protect the screen.
Can I power it from my monitor’s USB port?
Only if that port supplies 5 V at up to 3 A over USB-C; the light draws up to 15 W. Otherwise, use a USB-C wall adapter that can.
Will it block my webcam?
Its front edge is designed not to cover built-in monitor cameras, and BenQ sells an optional mount that holds a webcam on top of the light bar.
