Our verdict
If you want serious tracking in a light, comfortable band — and would rather charge weekly than nightly — the Charge 6 is the one to buy. The trade-offs: the small screen is no match for a smartwatch, it needs a Google Account, and some insights and the YouTube Music controls require paid subscriptions.

Questions people ask
Does the Charge 6 work with iPhone?
Yes. Google’s Help Center lists phones running Android 11 or newer or iOS 16.4 or newer. You need a Google Account and the companion app.
Can I swim with it?
It is water resistant to 50 m (5 ATM under ISO 22810:2010). Google notes it is not waterproof and that resistance can decrease over time, so dry the band after it gets wet.
Do I need a subscription?
Not for core tracking. Some features and insights need a paid membership, and the YouTube Music controls need a YouTube Music Premium subscription and a phone in Bluetooth range.
