Our verdict
If you want to see who is at the door and keep an eye on deliveries without paying every month, the E340 is the doorbell to get. Know the limits: it needs 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, it does not support Apple HomeKit, and cloud backup and thumbnail previews in notifications are separate optional features.
Why you’ll like it
-
01
The downward camera watches the doorstep, so you can see parcels that a single front camera would miss.
-
02
Video stays on the doorbell’s own 8 GB storage — eufy estimates about 90 days at 30 twenty-second clips a day — with no monthly fee.
-
03
AI detection for people, packages and familiar faces helps alerts focus on what matters.
-
04
Colour night vision up to 16 ft (5 m) shows visitors in colour after dark.
-
05
Run it on the rechargeable battery, or wire it to an existing doorbell for non-stop power.
-
06
Works with your existing chime, eufy HomeBase units and Alexa or Google Assistant devices.
Great for
- Homes that get frequent deliveries
- Anyone tired of paying for doorbell subscriptions
- Homes with or without existing doorbell wiring
Maybe skip it if
- You run your smart home on Apple Home
- You want every clip backed up to the cloud automatically

Questions people ask
Do I need a subscription?

Does it work with my existing chime?
Yes. It also works with eufy HomeBase S280 and S380, the eufy Minibase Chime (T8023) and Alexa or Google Assistant devices. It is not compatible with the original eufy Wi-Fi Chime (T8020) or eufy Chime (T8740/T8742).
